Commissioners will Discuss a Proclamation on ICE Detainer Requests for Adults Already in Custody on Probable Cause on Tuesday, May 06, 2025
At 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 06, 2025, the county Board of Commissioners will discuss enacting a proclamation on illegal immigration since Oregon's Sanctuary State status is contrary to federal immigration law.
The Commissioners discussed enacting the same type of proclamation on February 04, 2025, but the new DA and the Sheriff, along with a room full of leftists, spoke out against it. Even the Rural Organizing Project for Communists made a post about the meeting. In the end, Farmer and Sweet voted against it, so the proclamation failed to pass.
