Chairman's message

As of late, the CCRCC has experienced some disunity, caused by recently disseminated misinformation and personal opinions, both within and outside of our Republican Party.
If you are not a Republican, and you desire to do damage to the Republican Party, then like the Democrat Party, The Green Party, etc., you will be given the same credence as our other adversaries. We see individuals attacking Republican candidates in statewide races, our local legislators in both houses, and even the Republican Party itself, while rarely attacking the Democrat party, whose policies have led to the rapid decline of life in the State of Oregon.

If you are a Republican but consider yourself, "only grass roots", "too conservative to get along with the average Republican", "think that no Republican is right enough for me", or "I have no time for Republicans that do not totally agree with me", and you desire to publicly attack your fellow Republicans, then you too are going to find push back against your narcissist behavior.

As I've stated in our meetings many times, if you have a problem with your Republican representatives, you can contact them individually, you can primary them at the ballot box, or you can even run against them if you so desire. Attacking them in public does the Democrats' job for them and casts doubts on your motives. This is especially true when you tear down our party's own candidates, while offering no alternatives or solutions to your contrived problems.

And I wish that this were an isolated problem, but it is not. There are many groups throughout the State, self-proclaimed "grass roots", self-described "conservatives", and the like.  But mostly they are ignorant of the protocol and procedures that make up Oregon politics. Screaming and yelling about the folks that are actually doing the job will not get you your way. Being on the fringe of the majority will not get you elected. And if burning it all down, is not something you are willing to do, then another avenue will always be necessary.

Those of us who have been involved in the hard work, over the last decade, of replacing a hard-core Democrat House seat and a hard-core Democrat Senate seat, both with Republican legislators, know how difficult that this was to accomplish. And even though we often disagree with our own candidates and electees, we know that the alternative is a lot worse.

And as I myself have been attacked over the years, while volunteering with no monetary gain, giving of my own family's finances, and having no other aspirations other than living out my life as a free individual, I will continue to call out the destruction-only crowd, who tear things down and never build up or create anything of value.

CCRCC Chair Rod Schilling

Chair Rod Schilling

The Chair of the Coos County Republican Party, Rod Schilling, sent the following email back on December 01, 2023, threatening to cancel a local radio show and a monthly newsletter by going to their advertisers at the behest or on behalf of Senator David Brock Smith. In Rod’s mind, it must be okay to cancel their critics, but nobody is allowed to criticize the party. The party is practicing hypocrisy.

Who would want to belong to an organization that does not allow its members to evaluate or question their integrity?

The Republican Party of Klamath County sent out the following declaration criticizing 5 fellow Republicans proving that the party is in need of criticism.
