Oregon State Senator Dick Anderson’s Explanation/Excuse for NOT Walking Out with the Other Republican Senators ~ Town Hall Schedule Included

Here was my question to Senator Dick Anderson’s legislative staff and Dick personally replied to the question:

Could you please explain why Senator Dick Anderson has remained on the floor when other Republicans have walked out to deny the Democrats a quorum?  Rob T.

Dick’s explanation/excuse:

Good Morning Rob,

The last few weeks we have seen an increased misuse of power by the Democrat Majority. We have also seen the Secretary of State resign due to her abuse of power. We need to regain the trust in our institutions, not polarize further with poor governance as the Democrats have done. My Senate Republican colleagues have decided it was too much to take after repeated appeals to the Senate President. Leadership requires being part of the solution and as I am a member of the Leadership team with Senator Knopp, we are hoping we can find a plan to move forward with session.

 Best,

 Dick (Senator Anderson)

Be sure to attend these Town Halls and ask Dick why he did not stand up for his constituents by walking out with the other Republicans. It may be the Republicans are planning on rotating which Senator is in attendance in the session to keep them from violating the 10-day rule for attending the session.

Of course, that was not provided in Senator Anderson’s answer and it is highly unlikely since they did not do that at the beginning of the walkout.

Upcoming Town Halls to put on your calendar

May 13th 10:30am till 11:30am Southern Oregon Community College. Location on campus TBD

Hybrid format, in person or online along with Representative Boomer Wright

May 19th 8:00am till 9:00am Oregon Coast Community College Main Campus Building.

More details to come on this one. Look for a link or details on my facebook page.

Today, Sunday, Republican Senators Findley and Anderson abandoned their fellow Republicans and joined the Democrats in an effort to provide quorum.  They failed.  But not before being subjected to this:
