About Mayor Stan

I was born & raised in the Sandy/Boring area. I went to local public schools from kindergarten until I graduated from Sandy High School in 1999. I have friendships that developed in Sandy before I could walk. And I’ve have watched many of those friends stay in or return to Sandy to raise their own families.

I played in the local tee ball and baseball league, participated in youth soccer and played basketball through the local Sandy Recreation Center program. I grew up going to Friday night football games, eating at Paola’s Pizza Barn and have not missed a Sandy Mt. Festival in over 25 years.

As a teenager, I participated in local civic activities, most notably through the Key Club and their affiliation with the Sandy Kiwanis. I even served as a shadow councilor for the Sandy City Council.

Since returning home to Sandy over 10 years ago with MacKensey to raise our own family, I’ve enjoyed watching my daughters develop the same memories that I share from my days as a youth in Sandy - Their first Mt. Festival parade, Easter egg hunts in Meining park, breakfast at Tollgate and that first bite of a Joe’s Doughnut. I LOVE Sandy.

I look at Sandy, and am still able to recognize my home state of Oregon: It’s pioneer spirit and it’s collaborative and supportive network of families, small businesses, faith communities, and local government. Being mayor of such a place is a huge honor. It makes me wonder how the elite ruling our state continue to disappoint us with such an intrepid population of Oregonians behind them.

I am a pro-life, pro-gun, fiscal conservative Republican with a record of implementing real results for working families. I’m exploring a run for governor because I don’t want to give up on Oregon.

I believe our best days are yet to come.

I hope you agree and will join me on this journey.
